Terms of Use

These terms explain how Athkai works and the rules for everyone who uses it. Please read them before you order or sell. By using Athkai you agree to these terms.

1. Who we are

Athkai is run by [BUSINESS NAME], [BUSINESS REGISTRATION NUMBER], [REGISTERED ADDRESS], Sri Lanka ("Athkai", "we", "us"). You can contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL].

2. Athkai is a marketplace, not the seller

• Athkai is a website where independent sellers in Sri Lanka show their products and buyers can order from them.
• When you order, your agreement to buy is with the seller, not with Athkai. The seller is responsible for the product, its description, its price, delivery, and fixing problems.
• Athkai never receives or holds your money. You pay the seller directly.
• Athkai does not charge buyers or sellers any fee or commission at this time.

3. Ordering

• You do not need an account to order. You must give your real name, a Sri Lankan mobile number and a delivery address so the seller and courier can reach you.
• Prices are in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR). Before you place an order, Athkai shows the full total: the items plus the seller's delivery fee. That total is what you pay.
• If a seller changes a price while you are ordering, we show you the new total and ask you to confirm again.
• Placing an order sends it to the seller. The seller may confirm it, or cancel it (for example if the item is no longer available). If an order is cancelled, any stock is returned to the shop.
• "Made to order" items are made after you order. The number of days shown is the seller's estimate.
• To stop spam, we limit how many orders can be placed from one phone number or connection in an hour.

4. Paying

• Each shop accepts cash on delivery and/or bank transfer straight to the seller's bank account.
• For bank transfer, the seller's account details are shown on your private order page only. Pay only to the account shown there, and send the payment slip to the seller.
• Athkai does not accept card payments and never asks you to pay Athkai.
• Any refund is paid by the seller directly to you (see the Returns policy).

5. Delivery

Sellers send orders by courier. The seller is responsible for packing and sending the order. Courier name and tracking number, when the seller adds them, are shown on your order page.

6. Your private order link

After ordering you receive a private link to your order. Keep it safe and do not share it. Anyone with the link can see your order details and report a problem about it. Athkai stores only a scrambled (hashed) version of the link, so we cannot send it to you again if you lose it.

7. Problems and returns

If something is wrong with your order, use Report a problem on your order page. The seller and Athkai can see reports. Our Returns policy explains what every seller must do. Athkai may contact the seller and may take action against a seller who breaks the rules, but Athkai does not hold money and cannot itself refund you.

8. Sellers

Sellers must follow the Seller rules. New shops are checked by Athkai before they appear. We may hide a product or suspend a shop that breaks these terms or the seller rules.

9. What you must not do

• Place fake orders, orders you do not intend to pay for, or orders in someone else's name.
• Send abusive, threatening or false messages or reports.
• Try to get into accounts, orders or data that are not yours, overload the website, or copy it with automated tools.
• Use Athkai for anything illegal.

10. Content

Sellers keep the rights to their photos and text. By listing on Athkai, a seller lets Athkai show that content on the website and in links to it. You must not copy other people's content from Athkai.

11. Our responsibility

• Athkai provides the website "as it is". We work to keep it running and safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors.
• Because the seller, not Athkai, sells the product, Athkai is not responsible for the quality, safety or legality of products, or for delivery, except where the law says otherwise.

• Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Sri Lankan law, including the Consumer Affairs Authority Act, No. 9 of 2003.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the bottom of this page shows the latest version. Orders already placed follow the terms that applied when they were placed.

14. Law and disputes
